COVID-19 Updates | Metrowest YMCA | MetroWest YMCA

We're Open!

Program and Facility Operations

Effective as of December 31, 2021

Dear Members,

Your health and the safety of our community remain our top priority.

Updated mask guidance effective December 31st.

When actively working out in the facility there remains to be no mask requirement for fully vaccinated individuals. As an added precaution however beginning December 31st, masks will be required when entering, exiting, and moving throughout the building in common areas like hallways, bathrooms, and locker rooms for all individuals.  This is regardless of vaccination status, including children over two years of age, when indoors at the MetroWest YMCA facilities. Unvaccinated persons must continue to wear a mask at all times. Y staff will also continue to wear masks or face coverings indoors, except when instructing adult group exercise class or working in a space where there is proper social distancing.

We follow all CDC guidelines and do everything possible to keep our YMCA community safe. We continue to clean high-touch surfaces daily. We have also compiled health resources for you, including virtual exercise classes.

We encourage you to take precautions to help make our community safer. We ask that you use the disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer stations available in the lobby and wellness center to clean machines and yourself after each use. Additionally, the CDC strongly encourages COVID-19 vaccination for everyone five years of age and older and boosters for everyone age 16 and older. Vaccination is the best way to protect yourself and reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our communities. You can get a booster shot anywhere they are available, including your primary care provider, a retail pharmacy, or a community vaccination clinic. Or you can use VaxFinder to find a location.

We are so proud of how each of you has demonstrated our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility during this challenging time. We are grateful for your continued cooperation and support.

As we all know, this information continues to evolve and change, and we will do our best to keep you updated as it does. In the meantime, if you have any questions about our policies, please contact Framingham Branch Director, Lisa Mandozzi at

Thank you,

The MetroWest YMCA team
