Moving for Better Balance

A fall prevention program for older adults. The class uses the principles and movements of Tai Chi to help older adults increase strength, balance, flexibility and the confidence in performing everyday activities.

A group exercises program developed specifically for older adults. The exercises focus on the four areas of fitness, endurance, flexibility, strength and balance.  The program was originally designed to help with arthritis but evidence has shown that the exercises reduce the risk of falls in older adults.

The program is offered free with a YMCA membership and has a fee for non-members with the option to apply for financial assistance.
