Celebrate the 2024 Olympics through sport and movement!
The MetroWest YMCA Summer Olympics Challenge will occur from July 28 - August 11 at the Framingham Branch. Over the course of two weeks, you can compete in a series of Olympic events while earning medals along the way.
These challenges can introduce you to new exercise methods as you continue your health and wellness journey. Plus, it's a fun opportunity to set new goals and enjoy friendly competition with a family member or a buddy!
Summer Olympics Challenge
WHO: Members of all ages 7+ (individually or in teams of two)
WHERE: Framingham Branch
WHEN: July 28 - August 11
WHAT: Participate in as many of the following sports/events as you'd like:
- Basketball
- Swimming
- Track & Field
- Ping Pong
- Weightlifting (something similar for ages 10 and under)
- Cycling
- Rowing
- Volleyball
- Boxing (Boxing Tag)
There will be an Opening Ceremony on Monday, July 29 from 4pm - 6pm as well as a Closing Ceremony on Sunday, August 11 from 11am - 2pm. Stay tuned for additional details!
How It Works
While there isn't a minimum/maximum number of events you need to participate in, you'll have more chances to earn medals the more events you compete in. Sports will have a Gold, Silver, and Bronze standard, and every medal you earn will be entered into a raffle. We'll also hold several Group Challenge Days (schedule to come).

No. You're welcome to participate individually or as a team of two.
For teams, one member can compete in the whole event, or you can split the event between each team member.
No! This is a free event.
There is no registration deadline; however, anyone who registers by July 15 will receive a free shirt.
Once you've signed up, you will receive a scorecard to keep track of all the points you accumulate throughout the challenge.
